Today I will celebrate Independence Day.

Today I will eat good food.

Today I will sit in the sun and laugh.

Today I will watch fireworks.

Today I will appreciate the many blessings that are available to me simply because I happened to be born in this country.

Today I will be grateful to each and every man and woman who made it possible for me to celebrate.

Today I will pause to remember that
these men and women are not here to celebrate.

Today I will rejoice tha
t change is coming.

Today I will celebrate Independence Day.

  2. Beautiful post.

As a reply to the comment you just left on my blog… would you believe I had more then one question about the truthfulness of it? My word!

But then again, maybe the jokes on me.

    Ha!

  3. Today I will thank the heavens for writers like you.

But I pretty much do that every day…SO today, I will do all the stuff you’re gonna do in your post.

I think about that all the time and was just talking to my kids about it tonight. How lucky are we that we just HAPPENED to be born here. We didn’t choose it! I hope we always remember how lucky we are. Thanks for pointing it out.

  5. Sharing your pride!

And we decorated a cookie cake for my fire-cracker husband, born on the Fourth of July. Of course my four-year-old wants to know why we don’t have fireworks on his birthday, too.

  6. We were to our first 4th of July honest to goodness picnic! It was great!! Fireworks were insane, especially since it was just a bunch of people putting money in together.

Hope you had a great day!!!
