Every August our family makes an annual pilgrimage. We go forth to eat mass quantities of junk food nourish our souls, submit to the power of multinational corporate domination pay homage to creative genius, enjoy rides and other attractions feel our spirits soar, wear themed shirts and hats don ceremonial garb, Google for tips on how to make efficient use of the Fastpass service, study sacred texts to earn rites of passage, and wait in long lines demonstrate our solidarity with other Americans.

This is a picture of Laura from last year’s pilgrimage:

Can you guess where we will be? I’ll post pictures when we get back!

  3. The Matron wanted to guess Hawaii, based on the tree. Now, just for perspective. When she first started dating her husband and she heard any male voice singing on the radio — any voice- — she said: “is that the Beatles?” Have fun!!!

  4. Never seen that L before, but I cheated and read the other comments.

I asked my mom when she’d take the kids to those So Cal theme parks (b/c I’M not paying for those!) and she changed the subject!

It was hot, wasn’t it? But the crowds weren’t too bad actually.
